I want to make candy apples for Halloween this year. Seeing that it falls on a Tuesday, can I make them on Sunday, Oct. 29? Or is this too soon?

I want to know a good recipe for soft, gooey truffle centers when making candy cups with candy melts. Does anyone know any and a few different fillings that I could use that are good?

I am having a baby shower for my sister and I made pink and green candy wafer thank you chocolates out of the molds you get from Michaels. The shower is not until the end of June, but I needed to make them now. How should I store them and wil they still be good the end of JUne? I was thinking of putting them in the fridge or freezer?

Does anyone know how to make the rock candy that you don’t grow on a string? it’s flat and you break it up then shake it up with powered sugar? I made it along time ago at christmas. It comes in different colors and you can add different flavors it’s just like rock candy.
I want one that don’t involve growing it on a string, I want it to be flat pieces.

I don’t have a candy thermometer. I know that soft ball stage is to boil for 10 minutes.
Thanks for everyones answers. I looked in an old cookbook I had. You need to boil it for 25-30 minutes to get to the hard crack stage, if you don’t have a candy thermometer.

Im going to be making some chocolate candy suckers this week, And ill be using the chocolate melts from michaels, and some clear chocolate candy molds. But I dont want them to be one color. I want to put in the details with a bunch of different colors. And Im wondering what would be the best way to do this? Ive looked all over online and Cant find anything anywhere on candy decorating 101.
I thought possibly brushing different colors into the mold first, then pouring the base chocolate over that, but then wondered if it would melt the brushed chocolate back in with the other, and it would all go to waste?
And also, I want skin tone colored chocolate. How would I go about getting that?

Help Please?

Im vegan, and am not sure if candy canes contain gelatin, and there not in stores yet (shock) for me to check myself, and the peppermint extract contains alcohol. I have a stomach disorder and cannot consume any alcohol. Im looking to use this in cocoa, not baking so it wouldnt boil the alcohol off.

Is there any other options?

I love those gourmet apples like Mrs. Prindables and others, but how do you make them at home? Specifically, what type of chocolate should be used? I assume that the cake and candy section of craft stores would have this stuff, but I’d like some advice from those experienced in makes these treats.

My question originally got deleted?! Before I could write down the answer, and I’d appreciate anyone answering this for me again?

I’d like to use Candy bars (regular eating kind), in place of expensive cocoa powder used in many recipes. How do I do this?

Thanks
