I was working outside at a marina trying to save a 38′ yacht that was sinking due to a frozen muffler when this question occured to me. The wind chill factor was well below zero but the cokes were a steamy 40 degrees. A reverse cycle compressor was my first guess but that would have only raised the temp 10 or 15 degrees above ambient according to a hvac guy that I talked to. The sodas would have still frozen.
